Capturing Moments in the Rain at ByWard Market

ByWard Market — On a rainy day

Today, I made my usual visit to ByWard Market, ready to capture the beauty of its streets and corners. Just as I arrived, a heavy rainstorm began. People scrambled to find shelter, and I realized it was the perfect opportunity to photograph these spontaneous moments. Some hurried by with umbrellas, while others pulled up their hoodies or jacket hoods, braving the downpour.

The rain came in bursts, starting and stopping twice. When I finally sought refuge inside the historic ByWard Market building, the rain returned with a vengeance, accompanied by strong winds. Deciding to stay indoors, I took the chance to photograph some of Ottawa’s street musicians who had also taken cover. Despite the weather, their energy and joy were unstoppable as they played and sang, creating a vibrant and memorable scene amidst the storm.
